Megan and Brendan both started chiropractic care due to injuries. Megan sustained a back injury in 2018, which led to multiple physician appointments, where she was prescribed pain medication as a Band-Aid to a larger issue no one wanted to investigate.
The meds didn’t work and the side effects were terrible. They sat on a shelf in the closet and were used only in extreme circumstances.
A career in pediatric dentistry only added to her already poor posture and pain. Living with varying degrees of constant pain was the new norm. In 2021, the day-to-day agony that Megan experienced was exacerbated after carrying a 12.5-pound baby to 37 weeks.
It wasn’t until mid-2023 and a few consecutive weeks of debilitating pain, to the point of not being able to carry out everyday tasks, that she reached out to the office.
In early 2023, Brendan shattered his radial head and underwent radial head replacement surgery in his right arm. This left him in physical and occupational therapy for over 6 months. Unfortunately, this treatment was not very effective.
He felt like he had hit a wall in his treatment. Day-to-day tasks were difficult. Due to the pain and lost range of motion in his arm, his posture was effected from compensating while performing everyday tasks.
Megan had been in treatment for a couple of months and recommended that Brendan give chiropractic treatment a try. He made an appointment that week and hasn’t looked back.
Both have gone through their recommended treatment programs and are now in maintenance. Megan sees Dr. Joe monthly or as needed and Brendan sees Dr. Wade weekly.
They continue with their visits because they see (and feel) the impact chiropractic care has had on their lives. After living in agony for so long, Megan’s pain has been mostly alleviated and she has seen an increase in mobility. Brendan has seen improvement in his posture, as well as range of motion in his arm.
“We love coming to the office for care because it is so welcoming. Everyone we have met, even patients in the waiting room, have been friendly. We look forward to chatting with all of the staff and our docs. The ease of scheduling and rescheduling an appointment is beyond easy. The docs really take the time to listen, focus in on the problem areas, and come up with solutions. Our toddler son also loves accompanying us. At home he tries to emulate them and “fix” our backs. He also speaks about Dr. Joe and Dr. Wade like they are local celebrities. Hopefully we have a future chiropractor in the making because of these guys!”
