Dr. Patrick DeFrancesco opened The Chiropractic Health Center of Glastonbury in 1992. He is passionate about educating the community on the benefits of chiropractic and setting the highest standards of care.
For over 30 years, Dr. DeFrancesco has been treating families, from newborns to seniors. His own mother proudly prioritized her family’s wellness in the 1960s. While growing up in New Jersey, Dr. DeFrancesco began seeing a chiropractor when he was three years old.
The Value of Chiropractic
Spine health is all about preventative care, which should start young. The spine houses the nervous system, which controls the rest of the body. As such, your body works better when your spine is healthy.
“With your spine, pain is the last thing to show up. It could be malfunctioning for years and the last thing to appear are the symptoms. Preventative care allows your spine to stay flexible and healthy so you don’t get to the level where it’s hurting constantly,” says Dr. Francesco.
Preventative care also involves proper nutrition, exercise and a positive mental attitude. Our Glastonbury office embodies this holistic approach to health and wellness.
All In the Family
After earning his degree in Biology from the University of Miami, Dr. DeFrancesco attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa. When he took over Dr. Broggini’s Glastonbury practice in 1992, Dr. DeFrancesco’s wife Kathy helped out as office receptionist for six years.
Husband and wife fondly remember their children, Joseph and Giana, in a crib in the back of the office. Fast forward to May of 2022 and Joseph has joined The Chiropractic Health Center of Glastonbury team!
“Working with Joe is amazing, it’s a bond. The coolest thing is, we never told them what to do with their lives. They just chose to join,” Dr. DeFrancesco says. Their daughter Giana starts at Palmer College of Chiropractic in the fall.
The Road to Wellness
Kathy DeFrancesco has always been passionate about fitness and organic cooking, so the family supports local farms, exercises together, meditates and communicates above all else.
Outside of the office, the DeFrancescos enjoy yearly trips to Nantucket and Stowe, Vermont. They also give back as a family, spending Christmas Day serving food and gifts to underprivileged kids at the “We Are The Children” charity event in Hartford. The office also provides its services for free every second week of December in exchange for a wrapped gift to donate to We Are The Children.
Patient Appreciation Day
Our next Patient Appreciation Day in the spring of 2023 will honor Joseph’s arrival at the office and celebrate the community that’s kept us thriving for over 30 years. Open to the public, this parking lot party at our office will include a live band and catered food.
Until Patient Appreciation Day, we want to remind Glastonbury residents to invest in our number one asset: our health.
“With a properly aligned and flexible spine that allows your nervous system to function at its optimal level, along with daily exercise, proper nutrition and adequate rest, you’ll add life to your years and potentially years to your life,” says Dr. DeFrancesco.
